Allen Brothers Roofing Opens New Division in Tough Michigan Economy

| Allen Brothers, Inc., a multifaceted roofing and sheet metal contractor based in Rochester Hills, Michigan, has just opened a new division called Retrofit Roofing, Inc. during one of Michigan’s toughest slumps. Retrofit Roofing Inc. will be unique because this division only works on roofs of occupied buildings. In an economy that has fallen on hard times, many of our roofing competitors are looking for gold in the disaster stricken areas to the south, and the rapidly growing areas in the southwest. Allen Brothers is staying committed to its Michigan roots. |

| “Contrary to many of our competitors that are flocking to the Southern parts of the country where jobs are plenty, we believe strongly in Michigan’s tenacity. I know this from many years of experience. Michigan has such a strong infrastructure that we will revive sooner or later. We always have and we always will. We just want to retain our strong presence here when it does," said Allen Brothers President Robert Allen. |
| Allen Brothers has simply repositioned the company to adapt to the changes in our sluggish economy. “We realize that the grim reaper awaits those who don’t change,” said Allen. “We are anticipating expansion will slow and the state will go into a maintenance mode. We want to not only be able to replace old leaky roofs but to replace them while the business is uninterrupted. That’s the whole concept behind Retrofit Roofing Inc.” |
| The working slogan of Retrofit Roofing Inc. will be "You Do Your Work – While We Do Ours”. Allen says that the ability to work over top of an occupied building without interrupting that work environment is a challenge we are ready to face. We have purchased new equipment, retained new crews and brought on new product lines to take on this challenge successfully, and we intend to do just that,” said Allen. |

| Allen Brothers has been firmly entrenched in Michigan since its inception in 1950. Allen Brothers is a family run business, wholly owned by Robert and Gary Allen. Before Retrofit Roofing’s concept, Allen Brothers has found its niche over the years doing high end custom new construction projects in Oakland County and the surrounding Michigan area. |

| The list of these projects include hundreds of successful jobs and some of the most outstanding are: The expansion and re-roofing of Oakland Hills Country Club; the re-roofing of the Booth mansion on the grounds of Cranbrook Institute; the slate, copper, and rubber roof of the new and beautiful Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester; the re-roofing of the Townsend Hotel in downtown Birmingham; the metal wall cladding and membrane roofing of the new North Oakland YMCA in Auburn Hills; the entry addition using custom formed zinc shingles on Novi High School; the standing seam metal roof on the parking garage of the new Ford Field Stadium in downtown Detroit; the standing seam metal roofing and the rubber roofing of the new Woodside Bible Church in Troy; and the newly completed Spanish clay tile roof on the thirteen story hotel, on the grounds of St. John's Parish in Plymouth. Shall we keep going? |

| Allen said, "Our ability to do the work has never been an issue. We've already proven that a long time ago, however there is less and less of these kinds of projects getting built now. Our solution to Michigan’s changing economy is to specialize in taking care of what is already here in our own state - the roofs of our existing schools, businesses, intuitions, churches etc...” |

| This is not to say Allen Brothers hasn’t run to disaster stricken areas in the past. It has, but not at the sake of abandoning its Michigan roots. Several months after the September 11th terrorist attacks of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, Allen Brothers with the combined efforts of other patriotic roofing companies throughout the country, sent one of its finest slate crews to volunteer and re-roof the damaged portion of the Pentagon. “It was one of our proudest moments,” says Allen. “This time our own state needs us. The temptation to pull up roots and flee to the easy pickings of the disaster stricken Gulf cost where blue tarps cover almost every roof is great. The backlog of when business can get their roofs repaired is measured in years. However if all the good companies do that who 's going to be left here to take care of Michigan's roofs?” |

“This is our home and this is where we want to do business and Retrofit Roofing Inc. is how we intend to do it. Together lets keep Michigan stable, strong, growing, and dry,” said Allen. Call us at (248) 852-4770. Since 1950 to the present, “Above All A Good Roof”.
